The Dubai tramway was inaugurated on November 11, 2014. It serves Dubai's modern expatriate and tourist districts (Marina/JBR), located along Jumeirah beach. It connects the Al Sufouh district to the city centre.

As with all public transport in Dubai, a NOL Card must be purchased to use the Dubai Tramway. This card can be purchased at the ticket office or at the ATMs in the subway stations. The value of the journey will be automatically deducted from your travel card.
The Dubai Tramway also has two classes for passengers: a Gold Class and a Regular Class which also includes two trains reserved for women and children. The Gold Class located at the front of the tramway has wide seats and offers a panoramic view.
The Dubai Tram runs daily, with a frequency of 6 to 8 minutes between each passage.
